New Year, New Jewels!

Wolf & Moon Festive Jewels!

With only a few hours to go until we welcome in 2014 (seriously, where has the time gone?!), I thought I’d share with you the amazing jewels I’ve been rocking over the festive season from a brand who are I predict are going to do big things in the year to come!

Double Triangle Earrings – £24 – Wolf & Moon

Wolf & Moon is the Hackney based jewellery brand of Goldsmiths alumni Hannah Davis and specialises in ridiculously beautiful pieces in perspex and wood. I first became aware of the brand after a tip off from the ever wonderful Fashion For Lunch and I’ve been obsessed ever since. I would genuinely love to own every piece from the collection (and I’m gutted quite a few of the smaller pieces are sold out online) but for moment I’ve had to make do with the double triangle earrings in black glitter and the cluster collar necklace in purple and green.

I love the way the deco feel of some pieces is mixed with more contemporary materials creating jewellery that not only looks amazing when worn now but will also still look fabulous in years to come. I’ve been looking for some ‘investment’ pieces after receiving money from my parents for my 30th and I think this crest necklace fits the bill perfectly. Now all I need to decide is whether to get the gold or tortoiseshell version!

Knit Me Baby One More Time…

Now I know any mention of winter or indeed anything wool based when we’re in the middle of a heat wave (an actual heat wave rather than just a Manchester-defined one of ‘Oh it’s stopped raining long enough to walk 10 metres without an umbrella) might seem the product of a fevered brain suffering from sun stroke but the idea of writing about something associated with the cold in order to feel cooler does have some precedent. It also means however that any of you reading this who fancy getting a bit crafty have enough time to practise your knit and purls before present season is upon us as one of my favourite brands, Knit And Destroy have launched a fabulous book of hand knitting patterns for their gorgeous products!

Knit And Destroy has been going since 2006 and is brainchild of the multi talented Kandy Diamond. All of the quirky products are designed and machine knitted by Kandy in her studio and come in beautiful 100% lambswool. I was lucky enough to be given a Friendly Foxxx Fur scarf as a Christmas present which I adore and it managed the tricky task of keeping me warm and stylish during the really cold start to 2013!

I love the detailing especially the two-tone tail, the Knit And Destroy tag and the fact that the fox mouth opens so you can thread the tail through and secure with the button nose!
